Hypnobirthing & Antenatal Classes in Wakefield, Leeds, West Yorkshire & Online
Techniques to help you feel confident, calm and in control during the birth of your baby.
Group hypnobirthing courses held at my home in Wakefield
Hello lovely, I’m so glad that you have found hypnobirthing.
You’re probably here as you are feeling a little apprehensive about giving birth, you don’t want to be that person who screams the room down and remembers labour for all the wrong reasons. I understand because that’s how I felt when I was pregnant too. Worried that I wouldn’t be able to cope with the pain (I once cried when I stubbed my toe,) nervous that I would freak out mid labour and lose all control, scared that I would leave my dignity at the door, what if I just couldn’t do it?
I want you to know that you are not alone in feeling this way, I have worked with over 200 expectant parents from all over the world who are feeling anxious or worried about their upcoming birth too.
Thankfully, they all found hypnobirthing and were able to go from ‘scared to prepared’ in as little as 2 sessions, using all of the techniques that I taught them in my course to help them feel confident and in control about birth. Hypnobirthing can help you to ditch the fear too and replace this with confidence for a calm and positive labour.
Ways To Learn Hypnobirthing With Me
I would love to help you prepare for the most incredible experience of your life. My hypnobirthing classes will help you to fully prepare for labour and feel confident and calm during the birth of your baby. Here are all of the ways that you can work with me:

What are the benefits of hypnobirthing?
Where to begin? Here are some of the benefits that my clients have reported after completing their hypnobirthing course and a few statistics from the Royal Wolverhampton NHS trust*:
Helps to eliminate fear and worry surrounding childbirth, which allows them to enjoy their pregnancy
Helped them to feel calmer and more relaxed during labour
The course has helped them to feel closer and more connected to their partner
The techniques helped them to feel in control during labour
Reduces levels of pain experienced (53% of those who used hypnobirthing during labour experienced slight or no pain compared to 6% who didn’t use hypnobirthing*)
Reduces the rate of an epidural (14% of those who used hypnobirthing during labour had an epidural compared to 40-95% of those who didn’t use hypnobirthing)
The techniques gave their partner an active role to play during the birth, rather than feeling like a spare part
Their baby was born in a calm way which helped them adjust to the outside world
Fewer surgical births (4% C-section rate for those using hypnobirthing compared to 15-20% for those without hypnobirthing*)
The calming techniques were used after birth to support the transition into parenthood
The majority of people who have done a hypnobirthing course use their techniques in everyday life
*Statistics from the Royal Wolverhampton NHS trust when looking into the effectiveness of hypnobirthing.
“We knew very little about birth before the course and now, I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I feel raring to go. I’m just so excited to meet our little baby and I can’t thank Hannah enough for giving us the knowledge and the tools that we need to bring them into the world, feeling as calm and collected as can be”.

What’s the “Hypno” part of hypnobirthing refer to?
Everyone worries about this part, will I be whispering positive affirmations to your vagina whilst we dance around a fire under the moon? Perhaps, I will be waving a pocket watch in front of you whilst chanting “you can do it”. To be fair, I wish this was part of my courses but it’s not.
The “hypno” part of hypnobirthing does refer to hypnosis but it’s nothing like what you see on the TV. Unfortunately, I can’t take control of your mind. In very simple terms the definition of hypnosis is being in a relaxed state of mind, a bit like mindfulness. If we can practise this skill of hypnosis/relaxation during pregnancy, this will be amazing for us during labour. The more relaxed your mind and body are during labour, the more the muscles of the uterus can do their job to get your baby out and the more comfortable labour can be for you.
Essentially, self-hypnosis during labour = working with your mind and body to birth your baby in the most comfortable way.
I then provide you with knowledge about birth and what is happening to your body, along with lots of techniques to help you manage throughout the whole of labour.
I promise, it’s nothing weird.
